Cohere Releases Embed 5, Competing With Voyage 4 Large, Gemini Embedding 2, and OpenAI

Cohere has launched Embed 5, a new embedding model targeting retrieval, semantic search, and RAG pipelines, benchmarked directly against Voyage 4 Large, Gemini Embedding 2, and OpenAI's embedding offerings. Embed 5 is positioned as competitive or superior on standard retrieval benchmarks across multiple languages and domain types.
