Vercel Labs Open-Sources agent-desktop for Agent Computer Use

Vercel Labs has released agent-desktop as an open-source project, providing a framework for AI agents to perform computer use tasks — interacting with desktop environments programmatically. The release targets developers building agentic workflows that require GUI interaction, filling a gap between purely API-driven agents and full browser/desktop automation. This is significant because computer use remains one of the harder unsolved problems in production agentic systems, and an open-source harness from a high-profile dev tooling company lowers the barrier considerably. Developers can now build on top of this scaffolding rather than rolling their own screen-capture and action-dispatch layers. The open-source nature means the community can audit, extend, and integrate it into existing agentic pipelines immediately.
